Summarising

Autumn Haiku

Dividing by tens.

I was learning how to divide by tens. I thought this activity was easy because I got them all right and didn't have a problem finding the answers. I have remembered my previous learning. My next step is to try harder work.

Student of the Week

I got this student of the week certificate for Week 4.  I got a lot of ClassDojo points from camp by doing all the activities and winning the sand castle competition, 2 bulls eyes and a balloon, and staying behind after one of the lunches for cleaning up without being asked.

Welcome to my Blog :)

Hi my name is Eli. I go to Elm park school and I'm in room 19 with Mrs Taljaard. I'm doing a blog  so that I can post my work and get feedback. I enjoy hunting, fishing and rugby. This year I hope I can participate in Kapa Haka and the school rugby team. I'm looking forward to having lots of visitors and reading your comments.

My African Praise Poem

African Praise Poem.
How do I feel about myself?
The African culture is steeped in oral tradition, and the traditional way
for Africans to introduce themselves in a new situation.
IALT write a traditional Praise Poem, to introduce myself to the class.
Success Criteria:
I will explore the subject of African praise poetry,
I will take risks, and use imagery to reveal myself in poetic form.
I will follow the structure of a typical African Praise poem.
I will perform my poem to an audience, maybe using drums.
Structure:
Line 1 -        Introducing myself.

Line 2 –           Introduction to my family and heritage.
Line 3 -        Animal metaphor
Line 4 –         Nature metaphor
Line 5 –         Personality and Qualities
Chorus -           Refrain describing my talents, co-written by my peers.
